Anwar ada klip Video vk lingam episod 3

Anwar has another video clip

MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will release another video clip showing certain corporate leaders trying to influence judicial appointments.

PKR vice-president Azmin Mohd Ali, who disclosed this here yesterday, said the video clip would be released soon.

“This video clip is going to be even more damaging than the first video clip,” he said.

“Anwar wants to testify personally in the ongoing Royal Commission of Inquiry (on the Lingam video tape controversy). If he is not allowed to do so, he will release this video clip most probably in Kuala Lumpur.”

Azmin also said there were two other material witnesses who had important evidence to provide.

Malaysia's judiciary faces new claim of high-level bribery

Posted by Raja Petra
Monday, 28 January 2008

(AP) - Malaysia's judiciary faced fresh allegations of high-level corruption Monday when opposition figure Anwar Ibrahim released a video apparently showing a lawyer claiming to have bribed a top judge.

Anwar sparked an outcry in September when he made public a secretly filmed video clip of a man who appeared to be prominent lawyer V.K. Lingam telling someone on the phone in 2001 that he could use his political and business connections to get that person promoted as chief justice.

Anwar released what he said was the next segment of that video Monday. The five-minute footage showed the same man in the video alleging that he had given ``the most expensive gift'' to a former top judge and taken him out to dinner three times... The release of the clip in September led the government to order a public inquiry that began Jan. 14. Lingam has refused to confirm or deny whether he is the man in the video, claiming he cannot recall the incident.

Lingam has nevertheless denied brokering the appointment of judges, saying he could have been drunk and falsely bragging in the video.

Anwar said the new video clip highlighted the urgency for the inquiry to ``operate with the highest level of integrity and transparency so as not to be seen as feeding the rot which has tarnished the Malaysian courts.''

Lingam testified at the inquiry Monday that he was approached in 2000 by another lawyer who wanted him to ask former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad to appoint that lawyer as a judge. Lingam said he told the lawyer that he ``couldn't help him.''

The video clip, recorded by a visitor to Lingam's house, has strengthened suspicions of a cozy nexus between judges, lawyers, politicians and businessmen. The video also raised questions about whether judicial corruption has tainted key verdicts stretching back more than a decade.

Conflicting views over proceedings

By SHAILA KOSHY

KUALA LUMPUR: The decision of the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Lingam video clip to hold part of the proceedings behind closed doors on Friday has drawn opposing views from Suhakam and Transparency International Malaysia.

Suhakam chairman Tan Sri Abu Talib said the commission had the discretion to hold any part of the proceedings behind closed doors.

“They are not prohibited from doing so if they decide that it is in the interest of all parties.” “The function of the commission is to determine the truth, not to scandalise people. In this case, the commissioners know best what is appropriate for them to do.

“Proceedings can be held in camera to prevent innocent people from being dragged in,” said Abu Talib, a former Attorney General.

After the closed-door session on Day 9 of the inquiry, commission secretary Datuk Abdullah Sani Ab Hamid had said, “It’s not nice for the news to come out first and then only it is (evidence) decided whether it is relevant to the terms of reference.”

That hearing involved submissions on whether lawyer Datuk V.K. Lingam’s brother and Parti Keadilan Rakyat adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim should be called to testify on the alleged closeness between Lingam and judges.

The commission had excluded the press and public as lawyers for the proposed witnesses had indicated they would be touching on certain personalities in the course of their submissions.

But members of the public who had turned up complained about the lack of transparency.

“It was an unfortunate decision, from the point of view of transparency, integrity and accountability,” said Transparency International Malaysia president Tan Sri Ramon Navaratnam.

“This is an issue of wide public interest involving the appointment of judges and the integrity of the judiciary. Justice must be seen to be done,” he said.

Asked if it was not just as important to protect innocent individuals from being dragged in, Navaratnam said:

“Where there could be instances of unfair reference to individuals, I would rather trust the judgment of the chairman and other commissioners to determine what is relevant in open proceedings.

“If the question asked is inappropriate, they can stop it and if the answer is irrelevant they can order it expunged. That’s the layman’s approach to it,” he said.

The Commissions of Enquiry Act allows commissioners to demand all relevant evidence and examine any person deemed necessary.

The Act also gives them the right to include or exclude the public and press should they think it necessary.

Tak berani panggil Anwar sebagai saksi. Suruhanjaya takut kantoi?

Pita Lingam : Suruhanjaya buat keputusan tidak panggil Anwar
Wan Nordin Wan Yaacob
Mon | Jan 28, 08 | 4:20:03 pm MYT

Tapi nak sorok pun orang dah tahu dah.

Harakahdaily
Mon | Jan 28, 08 | 4:29:36 pm MYT

- mns

Vk Lingam Tape Video Royal Commission Court

Digital expert: Lingam tape authentic
Soon Li Tsin | Jan 15, 08 3:55pm

A computer forensic analyst today told the royal commission on the VK Lingam tape scandal that the controversial video clip was authentic and contained no signs of editing.

Mohd Zabri Adil Talib, 28, a senior digital computer forensic analyst with Cybersecurity Malaysia, a government agency under the Science and Technology Ministry, said that there were also no signs of tampering or dubbing of the clip which was revealed by opposition party PKR in September.

Testifying during questioning by deputy public prosecutor Azmi Ariffin, he said he had reached his conclusion after scrutinising the audio and visual aspects of both the eight-minute and 14-minute versions of the video.

“My analysis found the movement of the objects recorded consistent and authentic. If it was tampered or edited, the pixellation would show.

“The audio file that was extracted from the video is also consistent and not edited, therefore it can be concluded that no dubbing had been made,” he told the court.

The issue of authenticity of the Lingam tape video has been a key issue since the scandal was first reported on Sept 19 when PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim released the video clip at a packed press conference.

The government then set up a three-member panel to investigate the matter. This was followed by the present royal commission following a recommendation by the panel.

Zabri also testified that laboratory tests done in Madrid, Spain proved that one random sample labelled ‘Voice Sample 2′ matched the one in the video.

ACA enforcement officer Wan Zulkifli Wan Jusoh had before this told the commission that ‘Voice Sample 2′ was, in fact, lawyer VK Lingam’s (left).

‘Perplexing’ answer

Following this, commissioner Mahadev Shankar asked Lingam’s lawyer R Thayalan to reveal his client’s stand as to whether he was the man in the video or not.

Thayalan said: “I have not received instructions from my client on this matter. All he has told me is that the man in the video looks like him and sounds like him.”

Amidst laughter from the public gallery, Mahadev said he was ‘perplexed’ by this answer because Lingam’s stand on this matter must be established to expedite the proceedings.

Thayalan could not give an answer and instead told the commissioners to wait for Lingam to be quizzed when called as a witness. The proceedings at the Kuala Lumpur High Court premises resumes tomorrow.

PKR’s Anwar and party vice-president R Sivarasa are expected to testify tomorrow. DPP Azmi also made it known that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad is also scheduled to be questioned.

Opposition Leader Lim Kit Siang, meanwhile, lambasted the royal commission for not summoning Lingam as its first witness.

In a statement today, said that Lingam’s ‘admission of the authenticity of the tape would have saved time, money and resources’.

“If Lingam is prepared to admit up-front the authenticity of the video-clip, then the country can be spared the rigmarole of the completely unnecessary testimony of ACA officers going to Lingam’s house in Kelana Jaya to take photographs of its living room and compare it with the location in the clip,” said Lim.

‘Invoke full powers’

He said there would also be no need for other related testimony such as expert evidence from the private laboratory in Madrid to verify that the voice on the video clip matched that of Lingam’s.

“These evidences to establish the authenticity of the video-clip would only be necessary if Lingam challenges the authenticity issue, in which case, he should be stood down as a witness until the commission has crossed the ‘authenticity’ hurdle with all available verification testimony.”

With the clip’s authenticity confirmed, the royal commission can then quickly move to the serious business of determining whether those mentioned in the tape had committed any wrongdoing and face punishment, pointed out Lim.

“Of course, should Lingam issue a flat denial about the authenticity of the video-clip … and the royal commission reach a subsequent conclusion that the video clip was genuine, the commission should invoke the full punitive and penalty powers available to it to deal with Lingam.”

Lim said that it was not too late for the commission to ‘act smart’ and fast-track the current process of calling witnesses for testimony to establish the authenticity of the clip.

The five-member commission comprises former Chief Judge of Malaya Haidar Mohd Noor (chairperson), former Court of Appeal judge Mahadev, Suhakam commissioner Dr Khoo Khay Kim, former chief judge of Sabah and Sarawak Steve Shim and former solicitor-general Zaitun Zawiyah Puteh.

They are assisted by Prime Minister’s Department legal affairs division director-general Abdullah Sani who acts as secretary for the commission.

A team of minute-takers are also present to assist in compiling the hearings for the commission to come up with their report later.

The commission was set up to ascertain the authenticity of the video clip; identify the persons in the video clip; ascertain the truth or otherwise of the content of the conversation in the video clip, determine whether there is any misconduct and to recommend appropriate action against the person or persons identified in the video clip if there is misconduct.

M'sian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim predicts polls before April 2008

M'sian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim predicts polls before April 2008
By S. Ramesh, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 08 January 2008 1754 hrs

SINGAPORE: Malaysia's next general elections will be held before April 2008.

That's the prediction of opposition leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

If that happens, he said it'll be the earliest they're being called, in fact one-and-a-half years before the ruling government's term ends.

And he added if elections are free and fair, the opposition would perform impressively.

It was a meeting of old friends for Mr Anwar who was in Singapore to address the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies Regional Outlook Forum and the upcoming Malaysian elections was a hot question at the media conference.
Mr Anwar believes there are two reasons why the government would call for elections before April.

One - the decision not to raise petroleum prices and highway tolls and the other - to disallow him from contesting.

Anwar Ibrahim, Malaysian Opposition Leader of Keadilan, said: "From the discussions within UMNO and the Barisan Nasional, clearly this happens to be one of the major issues that has been debated, whether they should have it to allow Anwar to contest or not and the consensus was not to allow Anwar to contest."

“Barring any other reason there are enough problems affecting the Malay population, the sex scandals, Chinese sentiments and the Hindu action, there are other problems. Right now, that's one of the major considerations of the government,” he added.

In his reply to academics, who asked him if he still has the ambition to become Malaysia's Prime Minister and whether he would ever rejoin the ruling party UMNO, he said: "UMNO to me is an obsolete party. It continues to harp on issues of the past, Malay supremacy, new economic policy despite the fact that we have lost our competitiveness.”

He continued: “I am supporting Keadilan as a party. Whether I will make it to become prime minister will be seen in the forthcoming elections and future elections hopefully."

Mr Anwar and his Keadilan Party are already going full swing into election preparations.

He's visiting Penang on Wednesday, where he'll announce his party's arrangements with the Chinese opposition DAP Party to contest the Northern State. -CNA/vm

Terbaru dalam kes Altantuya

Ada data tidak diserahkan

Oleh NORAZLITA MOHD. SIES

SHAH ALAM 8 Jan.

Sejak hari pertama memberikan keterangan, Mohd.

Sebab apa? Ada banyak sebab. Ni antaranya...

1)Imej
2)Siapa lebih berkaliber
3) Pengalaman
4) Perjuangan

Syaratnya, jangan main tipu.

Ni sedikit cebisan dari utusan malaysia.

Selamat datang Anwar – Rafidah

PUTRAJAYA 8 Jan.

‘‘Hendak turun minyak apa? Minyak lenga (bijan).

Condition of Indonesia's Suharto worsens - doctor

JAKARTA (Reuters) - The health of former Indonesian president Suharto, rushed to hospital in critical condition last week, deteriorated again on Tuesday as his haemoglobin level dropped and fluid entered his lungs, a doctor said.

Suharto, 86, was admitted to Jakarta's Pertamina hospital on Friday suffering from anaemia and low blood pressure due to heart, lung and kidney problems.

"Suharto's condition deteriorated this morning," Mardjo Soebiandono, the head of the medical team treating the former five-star general, told a news conference.

"More fluid infiltrated his lungs and some blood was seen in his faeces and urine that prompted his haemoglobin to drop," he said, adding that Suharto had been given a blood transfusion.

Suharto ruled Indonesia with an iron fist for over three decades until he was ousted in 1998 in the face of a tumultuous pro-democracy movement and economic crisis.

The former strongman, who has lived in seclusion in the heart of Jakarta, has suffered from various ailments in recent years, including intestinal bleeding and strokes.

Critics say he and his family amassed billions during his rule, but the former president and members of his family have denied any wrongdoing.

Suharto was previously charged with graft but escaped prosecution when he was deemed too ill to stand trial.

He and his family are still involved in a couple of high-profile court cases.

The sudden deterioration in his health over the weekend prompted some senior politicians and one of Suharto's daughters to call for legal proceedings against him to be dropped. But the attorney-general said on Monday that his office would press ahead with a civil case against Suharto.

Ada apa pada Chua Soi lek?

Berikutan isu hangat Chua Soi Lek baru-baru ini, ramai menteri dah jadi takut kaau-kalau mereka pula menjadi mangsa ke'kantoi'an seterusnya. So apa yang dah jadi dengan Chua Soi Lek sekarang ni? Ada apa pada Chua Soi Lek?

Aku ambik sedikit dari beberapa akhbar utama negara pasal Chua Soi Lek.

1) MCA bermesyuarat cari pengganti Soi Lek

MCA bermesyuarat cari pengganti Soi Lek
08/01/2008 2:59pm

KUALA LUMPUR 8 Jan.

From: Utusanmalaysia

2) Jangan buat spekulasi – Musa

Oleh SHARILFUDDIN SAARI

KUALA LUMPUR 7 Jan. – Polis meminta semua pihak supaya tidak membuat spekulasi berhubung kes cakera video digital (DVD) rakaman aksi seks bekas Menteri Kesihatan, Datuk Seri Dr. Chua Soi Lek.

3) Episod Chua Soi Lek: Takkan pemimpin MCA saja perlu letak jawatan?
Dr Lo'Lo' Mohd Ghazali

Sat Jan 05, 08 12:56:53 pm MYT

Sorang suami orang, sorang lagi isteri orang.

"U scratch my back, I scratch your back". Pandai makan pandai simpan.

Bimbang bila dah termakan budi tak sanggup nak kritik dah lagi.

Polis pun turut melatah. Turun sedozen ahli-ahli forensik polis.

Astaghfirullah... sesak dada sebab SOB (short of breath).

A wealth of topics, from the apparent increasing Islamisation of Malaysia to the tumultuous post-Thaksin transformation of politics in Thailand and the rise of China and India, will put the gleam on a regional outlook forum to be staged by the Iseas think-tank tomorrow.

Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Lew will provide the keynote address at a gala dinner at the Shangri-La Hotel tonight. Former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will speak on how Islamisation can be reconciled with a democratic society in Malaysia at a luncheon tomorrow.
.
Leaders in their fields, analysts who will speak at the forum — the flagship event of the Institute of South-east Asian Studies — will give statesmen, academics and business leaders vital clues to their appraisal of the critical questions facing the region.
.
The analysts describe the present era as uncertain with new powers — India and China — jostling for their place at the top, Japan's decline to being an ordinary global power and political trends in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam having an impact on the region.
.
Professor Thitinan Pongsudhirak of Thailand's Institute of Security and International Studies will examine the situation in his country with his paper Post-coup, post-election Thailand — What next?
.
The clash between the old Thailand and the emerging new Thailand is a process that will play itself out during the twilight of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's reign, he told Today.
.
Equally compelling will be the assessment of his country by University of Malaya's Prof Rajah Rasiah, with his talk Where is Malaysia's economic development headed?
.
Prof Lim Teck Gee will add another intriguing dimension to the focus on Malaysia with Prospects for Malaysia — Rising to or in denial of challenges?
.
For the scholars and diplomats, in particular, outgoing Asean secretary-general Ong Keng Yong will look at whether an Asean economic community can be realised by 2015.
.
Incoming secretary-general Dr Surin Pitsuwan is confident that Asean's vision can be achieved, but to bring this about calls for closer networking of all societies and a clear map to tackle the rough seas ahead.
.
Singapore's Prof Tommy Koh will explore how Asean will be transformed with the introduction of the Asean Charter – which includes a human rights agenda and a dispute settlement mechanism – at the last summit in Singapore last November.
.
Political instability in Thailand and Indonesia as a result of the ongoing conflict fomented by the jihadist movement in Indonesia and the violence in southern Thailand will be addressed by two experts.
.
Ms Sidney Jones of the International Crisis Group will speak on Indonesian jihadism: Regrouping and Realigning, while Prof Duncan McCargo of the University of Leeds will address the question What's really happening in southern Thailand? MM Lee, Anwar Ibrahim among key speakers at Iseas forum

Upset M'sian minister calls Indon media 'insensitive'

Indon says it's all about press freedom
January 08, 2008

INDONESIA media experts are angry. It all started when an Indonesian reporter interviewed Malaysian opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

The October interview was shown on a talk show called K!CK Andy on Indonesia's Metro TV.

Malaysian Information Minister Dato Seri Zainudin slammed the Indonesian media for being insensitive to Malaysia by airing Mr Anwar's views, reported The Jakarta Post.

Now, Indonesia media observers have hit back at Mr Zainudin, saying Indonesian media has a right to do want it wants.

Communications expert from the University of Indonesia, Mr Effendi Gazali, said Mr Zainudin was wrong to say the Indonesian media was insensitive.

He said: 'That was a huge mistake. He said that just to protect his government's interest.'
He added that the minister should not have kicked up a fuss.

GO ON, CRITICISE OUR LEADERS

'We Indonesians would be very happy if the Malaysian media or scholars criticised President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono or other Indonesian leaders,' Mr Effendi said.

Similar criticism came from the secretary general of the Alliance of Independent Journalists Abdul Manan.

'What's wrong with interviewing Mr Anwar? Indonesians have a right to know what's going on in Malaysia,' he said.

'Press freedom is very limited in Malaysia, which makes the media there less critical of the government.

'Rallies or other events that may reflect negatively on the government are rarely covered because doing so invites repression.'

Host and Metro TV chief executive Andy Noya said Mr Anwar spoke on Indonesia-Malaysia relations and the rise of Asians in international leadership circles.

'As a reformist leader, Mr Anwar's thoughts are worth listening to,' Mr Andy said. He added that Metro TV had no intention of meddling in Malaysia's internal matters.

'It's not the responsibility of the Indonesian press to maintain the stability of Malaysian politics... Speaking of sensitivity, how sensitive are the Malaysian government and media about Indonesia?'

He added that Indonesians should be happy to live in a more democratic system even though Malaysia's eonomy is doing better.

'Democracy in Malaysia is an artificial democracy. Just look at the trial of Mr Anwar,' he said.

Mr Effendi added that although Indonesian democracy had yet to make its people rich, at least the political tension in the country did not lead to bloodshed as it did in other countries.

'Despite some problems, we are on the path to real democracy,' he said.
